Fear grips my mind each any every time I think about starting a blog. I begin to question if I have anything of substance to add to the educational community. Yes, I just finished my 10th year of teaching, but then I compare myself to the other educators who have websites including blogs, I begin to question myself.

It took some time and some intense conversations to realize that I have ideas to contribute. Not only that, but I can use this platform as a means to promote other educators. Over the years, I have come to understand that we are not an island. Sometimes we seem pitted against one another especially when everything keeps boiling down to test scores.

I am not a proponent of testing scores being the catalyst for painting the whole picture or even a major portion of the picture when determine how much knowledge a student possesses. Hence why everyone who is part of the educational community needs to learn what is best for students and weigh in on what ideas will help students learn.

Please know that this website is not just for those who are trained educators. I encourage parents and the general community to delve into the conversations and interact with us as well.  Everyone is an educator in the life of a child.  I am a strong believer that it really does take a village.  The only way that we are going to help all of our students to achieve their highest potential is if we allow everyone the opportunity to get involved in the educational process.  Therefore, I welcome everyone to this site to glean from my field and take what they learn back to their pastures. Therefore, my desires is or this website to be a way of sharing ideas, resources (free and paid), and have open and honest conversations about education. I look forward to the information we will share and the conversations.
